Viacom18 partners with DIPP to launch reality show outreach program for startups

India is improving on its Business side and startup are getting helped with the various supporters. Now media giant Viacom18 has partnered with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion’s #StartupIndia initiative to launch an outreach program for young entrepreneurs, that will include a reality show involving potential startups pitching for investment.

The program called ‘MTV KICKSTART’ will be an annual program to help equip youth to startup, the company said in a statement.

What is MTV Kickstart is for

The initiative will start with an outreach plan that will run through 52 weeks, reaching out to 300 colleges across the country. MTV along with #StartUpIndia will be hosting Start-Up Festivals across tier 1 & 2 cities to allow youth to have a personal interaction with the top entrepreneurs and investors in the nation.

What will MTV Kickstart will do

MTV KICKSTART will translate into a reality TV show on the small screen for young people to pitch their ideas to investors and win seed funds.

“The multi-platform program will help us engage with the dynamic youth of India, help them start-up with ease and inspire a new generation to follow their dreams and become successful entrepreneurs,”

Amitabh Kant, Secretary at the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, said in a statement.

The program will try and educate potential entrepreneurs through personal and informal interactions with start-up founders, investors and advisory firms.

“We now wish to extend the catalyst role to the start-up space as well by being a part of the journey of young entrepreneurs who dream to create a better tomorrow for India,” Sudhanshu Vats, Group CEO, Viacom18, said.
